Isha, seems like we’ve been reading each other‘s minds. I’ve been writing and thinking a lot about how confining chronos is. One person I know is able to live in it freely as if they embody both kairos within chronos limitations.

But some people I am really struggling and friendships with and even the person who embodies both, I just cannot figure out. I cannot put myself into that box.

Wow, this was such a good read. I’m going to be thinking about this for a while.

The mystics in every religious tradition seem to have discovered what you describe so clearly and eloquently. The trouble starts with trying to theorise this alternative state of consciousness within the impoverished fraction of awareness that is all civilised functioning allows: it just doesn’t fit, or conform to rules, timetables, limits, control of any kind—- it can’t be owned, bought or sold, or even properly communicated except between those already aware of it.

Your work brings together so many previously unrelated threads and weaves them into a pattern that calls up immediate recognition— and awe at the knowledge, skill, and courage involved. I can’t thank you enough for the validation your writing gives to my experience (and isolated analysis of it), and for the hope l am able to feel after so much discouragement.
